Mama is in a funk, we lost our Nanny on August 3rd and things have just not been the same. She is hoping to pull herself around soon and get some more pics of my loveliness up soon. In the meantime, here are a few of moi. I am doing my best to bring her around with lots of snuggles and cuddles.

Wow, after an absolutely pugtastic two weeks of company, it is just Mama, me and the baby sibs!! Dad had to go back overseas so I am in charge of course. I plan on the four of us having lots of snacks and naps over the next few weeks. I may have missed out on some beauty sleep with all the company.

My Uncle Jamie and I shared some special moments, I also loved chilling with all 5 of my cousins! Baby Ava cannot crawl yet so she was prime target number 1 for all my kisses!!

Well, I should rest and relax as Uncle comes back tomorrow and I cannot wait for more adventures with him!

I have spent the month resting with my Dad and making sure he is healing up. He had an incident and long story short- he fell down the stairs outside and caught his face on fire from a citronella gel candle. I was there and have serious pug trauma from the whole stop, drop and roll. The vacation was cancelled and I have been on nurse duty ever since. I will be heading back to doggy daycare but for now, Daddy needs me.
I sit in the shade with Dad as he cannot be in the sun.
We did have lobster, yummy.
I love helping baby sister make snackie selections!

Big Interview on Friday

On Friday, I am going with Mama for my entrance interview in the hopes I get accepted into doggy daycare and a new boarding place. Mama was not happy with my allergies flaring up at the last boarding facility so we are test driving this one. I want to go away with them but to be honest I really do not like to fly. Mama flew me once and I was a wreck so she tries to avoid it at all costs. I like the idea of doggy daycare, I sure hope I get in! Mama said my marks from obedience school will not be high enough for a scholarship-- meh, marks schmarks;)

Pyrite is in deep doodoo. She will NOT stay off the kitchen table. If I turn my back she launches herself up and eat's the wee man's food. I am extremely frustrated and my efforts so far have done nothing. I need to be able to leave the room for a moment with two small children.

How do I keep her off the table but let her live in every room of the house?

*** Okay, I am now putting Py on the other side of the gate on the stairs while the kids eat. She has lost her kitchen privileges until the food is off the table. I am hoping that seeing what she is missing--- dropped snacks from the high chair she will rethink her table launching actions. Sadly, I am not sure this will work but at least it keeps her off the table. I also worry about her jumping off onto the tile and hurting her hips. Baby sis crawled over to the gate to visit her at one point, broke my heart but Snug on the table is not okay in this house. I have visions of Christmas dinner with Py standing in the middle gobbling the turkey!!

I will continue to look for solutions for Py.

Phew, feeling much, much better! I am now weaning off the 'roids and Mama is doing everything she can to keep my folds squeaky clean. I am no longer eating my feet and my naps have become much more enjoyable. Phew-- here is hoping that is the end of that!

My folds are itchy, and icky! Wahhhhh!
Mama makes my pills look a little more delish and I gobble them right up.
Grrr, I hate getting my folds cleaned, grumble, grumble.

Well friends, I have been feeling under the weather as of late. My allergies are absolutely out of control. Mama had to take me to the vet after my week at the spa (argh it was a kennel, they tricked me). I am now on some steroids and other medicines. My folds are very itchy and icky but Mama is cleaning them and watching me close. We suspect I might have had some treats while at the spa that did not agree with me or being out in the country caused my seasonal allergies that only popped up here on the East Coast to flare up.

I am now resting and watching Mama and the kids close to make sure they do not plan anymore get-a-ways without me. The summer talk involves a certain little puglet going along and that works for me!

The steps collapsed yesterday with Mama on them. Brother and I were at the bottom and the baby was still on the deck. Boo, I was shaking like a leaf for a long time after this trauma. They are now repaired and securely in place, phew!

I have a new Auntie, her name is Roxy and she is 4 months old. She is big and will get much bigger--- not sure Grammy and Papa have thought this one through. Anyhow, I love to play with her. She is a nice addition to the family. I miss Hallie though, she went over the rainbow bridge after quickly succumbing to a brain tumour. Roxy will never take her place but she does help heal Grammy and Papa's hearts just a little bit.

Okay, so I am still grounded. Mama let me out of the kennel one day when she went out this week and I pooped again. I just cannot control myself, I feel such jealousy over my baby sis it makes me want to poop on the floor. Apparently, I have lost my staying out of kennel privileges for a while:(

Py has pooped on the floor three times this week--- each time when I left with the kids to go for a walk. She is acting out and I do not know what to do. I have not yet figured out how to walk all three so Py has to stay home for now. I am open to any suggestions on how to curb this awful behaviour.

I am looking to purchase a waist walker so her leash would go around my waist so she could walk with us.

Quality Time With Grammy and Papa

Mommy and Daddy go to the hospital tomorrow to get my baby sister, not sure why they just don't call the breeders but anyways who am I to question them!! I am staying home with my baby bro and Grammy and Papa. Apparently, Mama is not coming home until Thursday which has me slightly miffed. I am pretty co-dependent you see and I don't like when she is away. I told her not to worry about things, I will take care of stuff around the house.

Papa feeds me human food, and I love it, even though he is told not to. He cannot resist my sweet little bulging puggy eyes staring up at him while he eats yummy stuff. I also have Grammy wrapped around my finger so it is smooth sailing for Miss Puggy. I pretend that I won't eat and then Grammy gives me a dollop of Hallie's wet food on my kibble, then magically my appetite is back! I am pretty sneaky at times with those whom I know I can control. Mama won't fall for my shenanigans, so I gave up trying with her.

I am rather excited for my baby sis to show up, Mama stays home a lot more when there is a newborn in the house plus she doesn't move as much so I can snuggle in tight and keep her there. Dad said something about the letter C and how I cannot jump on Mama, I am going to have to get him to clarify that for me.

Well, I must help Mama putter around the house and get everything ready, I think we have a nap scheduled this afternoon as well. I will return with pics of me and my new sibling later in the week!

3 More Sleeps Until Daddy is Home!

I am so excited, after 70+ days, my Daddy is finally on his way home from Mongolia! I am so pugcited to see him!!!! I picture lots of walkies, snackies and cuddles for me! Py is a major food bum at times! Ian did share with her and even tried to give her a drink of his rice milk. She licked the sippy but did not get any.

Py has been spending lots of time indoors in order to beat the heat.
This is our first time in 5 years without central air- it is not normally that hot here but this July is wowza hot so I broke down and bought a portable air conditioner. It keeps us all cool and I don't worry about Snug overheating when Ian and I are out for the day.
We have also purchased Py a new ottoman for the bottom of the bed. She hurt her hip dive-bombing off the bed so now she is supposed to use this to help lessen the distance, now to convince her to use it.
Lucky waiting for some tuna at the shore- he demands it at 5 p.m. each and every night.
Meow- it is so hot outside, I must assume the beached whale position and cool off.

Learning To Read

Py didn't just frolic the day away at the beach today. She also took time to read her ABCs while drying off after a dip in the ocean! Py also found out today that the ocean is salty and not good to drink---- poor little one had forgotten that golden rule! She is fine but her tummy was a wee bit upset, she had not been in salt water since 2006 so she can be forgiven for forgetting!

Mama put me to work gardening today, I am pugauhsted!!
I thought the fake pug was real and tried really, really hard to get it to play with me.
I helped Mama split some hostas so we can make this side garden grow. There are lots of little gardens and flowers on my property. I like to tiptoe through the tulips.

Hi everyone! Greetings from a very rainy province!! There has been lots of rain the last few weeks and it has seriously impacted my outdoor playtime. Sorry there is a lack of photos, Mama said that I need to start doing some new things so everyone doesn't think that all I do is sleep, sleep, sleep.

I hurt my hind leg the other day launching off the bed when I heard baby brother's fruit snack bag crinkle. Mama was embarrassed explaining the whole scenario to the vet, he said I was not allowed to play Super Pup again. I am healing up nicely and Mama was good enough to carry me up and down the stairs for a day or two.

In other news, Dada is back in Mongolia so I am doing my best to keep Mama company. I snug super tight in the bed at night and make sure to whine lots so she knows she is loved!

Well, it looks like I should be prepping for another nap.

Pyrite's baby brother has Autism and with the Autism has come extreme language acquisition difficulties. This video shows what hard work and believing can do for you in life!

There once was a little boy who wanted to sing with all his heart. The problem was that this little boy was having extreme difficulty acquiring language and therefore could not sing. His parents dreamed of a day when he could join them in song. They worked and they worked and they worked on language acquisition and lo and behold, their dream has come true. Proud is not a large enough word to describe how we feel when our son sings with us. We love you Little Bear and cannot wait to sing, sing, sing some more with you. Go Ian go! You are an inspiration!

Hi everybody! I have been very busy lately enjoying the sunshine and exploring my new surroundings!!

We went to the vet this morning and it sounds as if Py had a petite mal seizure whereas her last seizure was a grand mal. Py has now demonstrated both to me so I know what to expect in the future. We ran blood panels to make sure all was well with her organs and all is well, phew. I guess we just have to get used to the fact that Pyrite has epilepsy and this may happen again. For now, we are not putting her on medication as it is hard on the body and we want to avoid it as long as possible. This is her second seizure and I am now to keep logs of them, what, when, where, how long, etc. so we can track them. If and when she does go on medication-phenobarbital, it can cause her to be dopey and gain weight, it is also hard on the liver--- I hope we don't have to go on it anytime soon. She is still healthy as can be, just has a new quirk to her that with time will not freak me out as much as it does right now. I admit I handled last night much better compared to the grand mal she had on April 10th.

Oh course, Py is playing up her owie from the the blood work and has been lapping up the treats. The vet could not get over how excited Ian was to see her when we picked her up, he went wild in the examination room with glee. I wish the vet could see them at home, Ian stalks her wanting to be with her-- they are the best of buds. I hope the kitty that lives at the vet recovers from Ian stalking him and meowing at him incessantly in the waiting room. Ian's love of animals grows by the day!! I wish Cage could be here now to see how much she loves him. She has been gone a year and he did not have much to do with her back then, now kitty cats are one of his passions.

Thanks for the warm wishes and hopefully now that we know what to expect, we can deal with these seizures as they occur and continue on enjoying life with our little snuglet!!

Py had Another Incident

Tonight Py had a weird incident. She has been twitchy for two days now when sleeping which I found strange so I have been watching her close. Tonight, she started staggering around the kitchen floor and lifting legs and being really disoriented. I held her and sang to her to keep her calm while she twitched a bit but not like the full blown seizure she had a few weeks ago. When I finally let her up, she was fine and no longer falling over. I took her outside, she peed and then seemed okay. My Mom rushed over and Py's response to her what not the usual freak-out which let us know that something was up.

I am taking her to the vet in the morning and requesting some bloodwork to see if we can get to the bottom of what is going on. I am thinking she might have had a small seizure in comparison to her last one or a mini-stroke? I am most definitely fretting about my little darling this evening. Her Daddy is on his way home, he is currently somewhere in the Gobi Desert trying to get to Ulan Bator, then Seoul, Vancouver, Toronto and then home. Fingers crossed he is here by Friday.

If anyone has any similar incidents please share to help shed some light on what is going on with our baby girl.

Hi everybody, I just wanted to post a pic to let you know that I am okay. I gave Mama a pretty good scare today and I admit I scared the daylights out of myself. Mama gave me some apple for snack tonight and it seems to be helping with my trauma.

Pyrite had a seizure this afternoon. We have been to the vet and she is okay. My heart is still thumping and I am so relieved that our little girl is okay. Her health is great and the vet said it might never happen again. We have to watch her for signs and if she does start to seizure more then we can look at medication. I was terrified that we were losing her as I held her on the floor. Py is an integral part of our family and I am just not ready for life without her. Luckily the baby was sleeping so he did not have to see her in distress. My cousin and Mom rushed over so I could take her to the vet. She is now licking her lips a lot since we got home and I wonder if that is a stress reaction to everything that happened today.

If anyone has any advice on preventing seizures or what to do, it would be greatly appreciated.

Moving Again in 11 Days!

Hello all! Py wants you all to know she is moving to her new home in 11 days. This house does not have a fence like our last 4 houses so the decision now must be made what to do about it. Our friend's Mom has an invisible fence and we are going to go and check it out. Py is on a tie-out here and does not really like it. I want to make sure she is safe but can still run around and play. Fences are not really common here like the other places we have lived and the fact that we have a double lot means a fence will be a major investment I am not quite ready for.

I am open to any and all suggestions you all have about ways to keep the puglet safe at our new home! Has anyone tried an invisible fence? How do you get a pooch who has never been tied out to start liking it?

Living Large in Nova Scotia

I made it safe and sound to my new home! Dada, Buppa and I drove across the lower states and made it from Nevada to Nova Scotia in 4 1/2 days. Mama flew with my baby brother as the trip would have been much slower if we had taken him along. I am in my new house for a few weeks before I move into my newer house in mid-April. I made friends with the two pooches next door and I love going to Grammy and Papa's house. My Dada is in Mongolia right now so I am home with Mama and baby brother. Mongolia is too cold for me this time of year. I will hopefully get Mama to get some pictures up soon. She has been kinda busy with everything. Well, naptime for this little snug pug!

This is my new kitty cousin Tito- he is 6 months old and was recently adopted by my aunt and uncle. He also has a new brother who is 5 years old that was adopted at the same time. I cannot wait to meet them both, I hope they like me!!
This is my Auntie Hallie, she tolerates me kinda sorta. Auntie Hallie can be an old bag at times but I love her anyway!
Uncle Lucky puts up with me but we have yet to have a good cuddle. I will keep trying and eventually will wear him down!!

Hello all! Py the pug reporting for duty. First of all, it is with great sadness but yet excitement I announce I am moving AGAIN! This time, Nova Scotia, Canada will be my stomping ground. I have been there a few times to see my Grammy and Papa and absolutely love playing at the shore. I like to dig in the sand and run around like a loon. This is where Mama is from so she seems pretty excited to be going back after 15 years away.

I shall miss the mild Nevadan winters but not the blistering heat that is summer in the high desert. I feel I have made my mark here but admit I am lonely for other dog friends like I had in Ontario and Manitoba. My cousin Boomer (chocolate lab) and my Auntie Hallie (Terripoo/crazy dog) will be waiting for me when I get there so I can have play dates again. I also have kitty cousins to terrorize and my Uncle Lucky who is one big ole' kitty cat.

I assume now that I will be living in the Maritimes that Mama will prepare fresh seafood dinners for me every day and we can say goodbye to kibble. mmmm lobster for Miss Puggy! I will have to run that by her. Anyway just wanted to keep those who check in on me in the loop. I am so not looking forward to the 15 state drive we are about to do. Mama said I will be blowing my coat from state to state to state. I also heard word of a possible kenneling so the peeps can take baby bro to a water park-- I am sure that is just a nasty rumour.

I blast off in 2 1/2 weeks so will try to update before then and promise to take pics along the way. Mama will do her usual blow by blow of the trip on her other blog so feel free to stop on by and check in on us. I assume I will do most of the driving, I am very talented you know.

Py has totally commandeered Ian's bean bag chair. She loves to smoosh it down in the middle and make the perfect little snuggle spot for herself. Her bed is literally five steps away but she just uses it for stuffy storage now that the bean bag chair has entered her life.
I make sure to fluff it daily for her so she can squish it down just right. As I type this, she is snuggled into it watching her Dada play golf on the Wii!
